Ep# 9

It had been a week since Noor and Durab's wedding. Sawera and Jaza were sitting at home, browsing a website on the laptop. Both of their eyes were fixed on the laptop screen. Only a few minutes were left until 10 o'clock. The Lahore Board's matric results were to be announced at 10.

"How long until it's 10?" Sawera nervously asked Jaza.

"Just five minutes, hold on. It's almost 10," Jaza replied, her eyes still on the laptop screen.

Jaza's gaze remained glued to the screen, while Sawera's eyes were fixed on the clock's hands, which were about to strike 10.

"The result is out!" Jaza's excited voice echoed in the room, startling Sawera.

Jaza quickly entered Sawera’s roll number. The web page was loading, and with it, Sawera's heartbeat quickened. In just a few moments, Sawera Shahid’s matric result appeared on the screen. Seeing the result, a tear slid down Sawera's cheek. She still couldn't believe what she saw on the screen was real. At that moment, Jaza's phone, lying nearby, rang.

Jaza immediately picked up the call, as it was from her father.

"As-salaam alaikum, Dad!" Jaza's excited voice came through the phone’s speaker.

"Wa-alaikum salaam, quickly let me talk to Sawera," Shahid Sahib’s voice sounded anxious.

Jaza instantly handed the phone to Sawera, who was still staring at the laptop screen with tear-filled eyes. Seeing her eyes glued to the screen, Jaza placed the phone against Sawera's ear.

"Congratulations, my dear! My daughter topped all of Lahore!" Shahid Sahib's loving voice echoed in Sawera's ear.

Hearing her father’s voice, she smiled through her tears. She had been rewarded for her hard work. Her year of effort had not gone in vain. God had given her much more than she ever imagined.

"Thank you, Dad," Sawera said, taking the phone from Jaza's hand, her voice as teary as her eyes.

"I'll call you later, Dad. First, I need to thank the One who has given me more than I ever hoped for." With that, she handed the phone back to Jaza and went to perform ablution.

After a short while, she finished her prayers of gratitude when Annam Begum entered the room.

"Mama!" She immediately hugged her mother.

"What was your result, my dear?" Annam Begum asked, noticing the happiness on her daughter's face.

"Our hurricane topped!" Jaza teased Sawera.

"MashaAllah!" Annam Begum hugged her again.

Today was her first day of college. She had been admitted to the college of her choice. She wanted to become a doctor, which is why she had taken admission in medical school. She was dressed in her uniform, having breakfast, when she heard the sound of the college van’s horn from outside.

She quickly got up, said goodbye to her parents, and went outside. As soon as the van door opened, her best friend Zaysha was sitting right in front of her. Seeing her, Sawera immediately sat beside her. The two chatted the entire way to college.

Upon entering the college, the first thing they did was look for their classroom. Once they found it, they both sat down. Moments later, a few girls stood in front of them.

"Are you both first-year students?" one of the girls asked, wrinkling her nose.

Sawera realized exactly why these girls were hovering over them.

"Are you new here?" Sawera responded in the same tone.

"Why would I be new?" the girl raised an eyebrow, looking questioningly at Sawera.

"Because you don’t even know who the new students are and who the old ones are," Sawera replied in a highly confident manner.

The girl was impressed by Sawera’s attitude. "I’m impressed," she said, looking at her with admiration.

"That compliment is old now. Say something new," Sawera said, leaning back in her chair, while the other girls stood there, mouths agape. The girl they thought would be easy to fool because of her innocent looks was showing her sharp tongue, while Zaysha looked at them as if to say, "That’s enough for today."

"You’ve got a sharp tongue," one of the other girls remarked.

"Alhamdulillah, I’ve never been arrogant about it," Sawera said, lowering her head slightly as if graciously accepting a compliment.

"Stubborn," another girl said.

"More than you can imagine," Sawera replied with nonchalance. Today, she truly seemed like Jaza’s sister. Since it was the first day of college, there wasn’t much study to do. Zaysha had gone home by noon, while Sawera was waiting for the end of the day. While waiting, she fell asleep, and when she woke up, it had been 20 minutes since the classes had ended.

"Oh, Sawera, your sleep is going to get you into trouble!" she scolded herself, rushing towards the college gates.

There were still a few girls left in the college, but the van that was supposed to take her towards her home had already left. She thought for a moment and then stepped out of the college.

She had been standing by the roadside for a while, trying to hail a rickshaw, when a white Land Cruiser stopped in front of her. At first, she panicked, but when the window rolled down, she relaxed.

Shehzad, who was wearing a navy blue shirt with beige pants, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, stepped out and stood in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" Shehzad asked, observing her carefully.

"In my college uniform... what could I possibly be doing here?" Sawera replied with a question, as she was feeling hungry and the sun was beating down on her. The extreme heat had turned her fair face completely red, and her puffed cheeks looked even fuller. Anyone who saw her at that moment would have fallen for the innocent little doll.

"It seems like neither of Mamon's daughters know how to give a straight answer," Shehzad said, smiling at her.

"What do you mean?" Sawera asked, glaring at him this time.

"I mean, why are you still here in this heat? Why haven’t you gone home yet?" Shehzad finally got to the point.

"I missed my van," Sawera said helplessly.

"No worries, I’ll drop you home," Shehzad said, turning towards the car, but Sawera remained standing where she was.

"Sawera, get in. I'll drop you home," this time Shehzad’s voice had a commanding tone, so she got in the car with him.

"Tell me, would you like to eat something?" Shehzad asked, looking towards a restaurant.

"Yes, absolutely!" Sawera replied eagerly. She was a foodie, and when it came to food, she would even go with an enemy. So how could she say no now, when her stomach felt like rats were playing hockey inside?

The two sat facing each other, and the waiter placed their order on the table. Sawera was doing full justice to her meal, while also responding to Shehzad’s conversation.

Shehzad had finished his meal and was now watching Sawera eat hers. In his mind, Nooriez’s words echoed. Lost in thought, Shehzad smiled to himself. But little did the innocent Sawera, sitting across from him, know what kind of storm this smile was going to bring into her life. She had no idea she was about to fall into the hands of a beast.

“I’m telling you, do whatever it takes, any possible way—find out where King is,” Imran Laghari said angrily.

“How are we supposed to find King? Either Saleem had more contact with King, or Beast would know where King is. Ever since Beast arrived, Saleem hasn't met King in person; their contact has only been over the phone,” Akram Sahib said with concern.

"Have you got hold of Saleem's phone?" Usman Sahib asked, thinking for a moment.

"Given the condition in which his body was found, do you think we’ll get anything useful from his phone?" Akram Sahib said with frustration, glancing at Usman Sahib.

"Listen, Saleem's son could be of use to us. After all, Saleem was once King’s friend, so with his son’s help, we might be able to reach him,” Imran Laghari said thoughtfully.

"Imran, I think your brain has stopped working with age. Saleem’s son knows nothing about the underworld, and Saleem told King that he had killed his son. Even if we involve Hadid, reaching King would still be impossible. And another thing, that boy might become a problem for us," Akram Sahib said, glaring at Imran.

"Where are your sons right now?" Imran Laghari asked, after some thought.

"They’re all busy with office work," Akram Sahib replied, just as the door to Imran Laghari’s office opened, and Nawaz walked in.

"You called for me?" Nawaz asked as he entered, sitting down on a three-seater sofa on the side.

"Wait for the other two to arrive, and then we’ll tell you why we called," Usman Sahib said, leaning back in his chair.

Nawaz shrugged and leaned back against the sofa. A few moments later, Shehzad entered Imran’s office, followed by Nuraiz.

Now they were all in a meeting room, seated around a large table, and Imran stood in front of the projector screen.

"The plan we’ve made for smuggling girls, drugs, and weapons will be put into action a week from now, because we need to get all the goods out of Pakistan as soon as possible. This time, the goods won’t go directly from Pakistan to Dubai. According to the plan, Shehzad will first take them to the U.S., Nawaz to Turkey, and Nuraiz will head straight to Oman. One or two days before the goods reach Oman, Nawaz and Shehzad will join Nuraiz there, and from Oman, everything will be sent to Dubai. Leena will be waiting for you all in Dubai, and once the goods are delivered to the required location, the four of you will return to Pakistan," Imran Sahib reiterated the plan.

"Yes, and we will keep updating you all about any developments from here," Akram Sahib added, just as Shehzad's phone rang. He immediately cut the call.

**************

He was sitting on the couch in his office, leaning back. His black eyes had a slight redness to them. His black hair, which had been neatly set with gel, was now partially scattered across his forehead. Two empty bottles of liquor sat on the table in front of him, with a third bottle half-full, and a glass of alcohol still sitting beside them. The ashtray nearby was filled with cigarette butts, and another cigarette was burning in his hand. He brought the cigarette to his lips once again, taking a deep drag, and exhaled the smoke into the air.

The office room was filled with the stench of cigarette smoke and alcohol. He was lost in his thoughts when his phone rang again. After growing tired of the repeated international calls, this time he picked up.

“If I’m not picking up your call, it means I don’t want to talk to you,”
Shehzad's voice, filled with bitterness, broke the silence that had enveloped the office.

"Shehzad, please come once,"
The voice on the other end, likely a woman, sounded helpless, her tone trembling through the speaker.

The desperation in her voice gave Shehzad a sense of satisfaction, and he leaned back against the couch, smiling.

"Ok, I will try…"
With that, he removed the phone from his ear.

"I will come to end this chapter this time, sweetheart…"
Shehzad spoke, looking at the phone screen, a sinister smile spreading across his face.

The cigarette in his hand had now burned out, and he lifted the glass of alcohol in front of him to his lips.

He was standing there, wearing a black blindfold over his eyes, holding swords in both hands, and his face was covered with a black mask. The room was dimly lit, and the person standing in front of him picked up a few apples from a tray and threw them into the air. He sensed the apples rising through his hearing, raised the two-edged swords in his hands, and within moments, the apples were sliced into pieces and fell to the ground. Before he could strike again with the swords, he heard the sound of heavy boots in the room. He paused for a moment, removed the black blindfold from his eyes, and turned around.

"You... after quite a long time, you're finally showing up here," Kabir Khawar’s voice echoed in the silent, dimly lit room.

"Yes, it's me, Kabir Khawar... Why, is my arrival bothering you? After all, you're staying at my hideout, so of course, I’ll come and go as I please. I don’t need to inform you, Kabir Khawar," Beast said, emphasizing his name at the end.

"I’m the King, call me King, Beast," Kabir Khawar said in a commanding tone.

"You're a king to your lackeys and dogs, Kabir Khawar, but to Beast, you're just Kabir Khawar, nothing more." Beast spoke coldly while placing the double-edged swords back in their place. His green eyes were tinged with slight redness, as if he was holding back his rising anger.

"Don't forget, Beast, I was the one who brought you into my group. If you're in Pakistan today, it's because of me," Kabir Khawar said through gritted teeth.

"Hahaha..." Beast's loud laughter echoed through the room.

"Don't forget, Kabir Khawar, when your life was at risk, I was the one who gave you refuge in Italy. And as for coming to Pakistan, that wasn’t difficult for me. Getting rid of you would be as easy as squashing an ant. I could have killed you and still come to Pakistan. Just because I gave you shelter doesn’t mean you can try to dominate me," Beast said, staring directly into Kabir Khawar's eyes.

Kabir Khawar was momentarily silenced.

"You can’t talk to me like that, Beast! Watch your tongue!" Kabir Khawar shouted in anger.

"I don’t take anything from you, nor am I your servant. If I wanted, I could reveal your hideout to the army and Zak right now. You know very well what would happen to you then." Beast smirked behind his mask.

"And there's more news for you... Saleem Afandi is dead," Beast whispered near Kabir Khawar’s ear.

"What do you mean? How?" Kabir Khawar couldn't grasp what he had just heard.

"It means Saleem Afandi has also been killed," Beast said calmly.

"Are you going to tell me what’s happening in the underworld?" Kabir Khawar clenched his fists.

"What's the rush, Kabir Khawar? I'll tell you everything, but in due time." Beast felt a strange satisfaction seeing Kabir Khawar's helplessness.

"And one more thing, your dear friend’s son is still alive." Beast, with a sense of contentment, watched the color drain from Kabir Khawar's face as he said this.

"Hadid..." Kabir Khawar could only manage to utter that single word.

Beast began walking past him, heading out of the room, when Kabir Khawar's voice caught his ears.

"Beast, send me back to Italy or Pakistan..." Kabir Khawar demanded bluntly.

"Forget it, Kabir Khawar," Beast replied without turning around.

"You want to clip my wings... I won’t let that happen!" Kabir Khawar shouted angrily.

"Lower your voice, Kabir Khawar," Beast's tone was calm but firm. "It's not in my nature to clip wings. I prefer cutting throats over wings. If I ever need to rein you in, I won't clip your wings; I'll cut your throat."

With those words, Beast didn't stop; he kept walking, leaving Kabir Khawar speechless, as if a snake had struck him.

The flight had just landed in Los Angeles, USA. Shahzad, with his long coat draped over his arm, collected his luggage and exited the airport. He had already arranged for a car. After giving the driver the address, he sat in the car calmly, sipping his coffee. In no time, he was standing in front of a house—a house he still remembered well. He had stayed here for days, spending time with Rozina. There was no doubt Rozina was beautiful, but for Shahzad, she was nothing more than a time pass. He only cared about her body, nothing else.

He walked up and rang the doorbell. A few moments later, the door opened. Rozina stood there, shocked to see Shahzad. She couldn’t believe he was standing in front of her. She instinctively rushed forward and hugged him, but Shahzad stood there with a serious expression on his face.

“Finally, you came,” Rozina said in a trembling voice, while Shahzad, without responding, walked inside. In the living room, a child, Nick, was playing with his toys. Shahzad stopped when he saw him.

“This is our son,” Rozina said as she placed her head on Shahzad’s arm from behind. But Shahzad, with a sudden burst of anger, pulled his arm away from her.

“Why are you calling me again and again? When I’ve already told you, I don’t have any relation with you. And I don’t consider this child as mine either. You were just a time pass and nothing more. I have nothing to do with you or this filth,” Shahzad said, his voice filled with anger and disgust. His words and tone were brimming with hatred.

His voice was so loud that Lily, who was coming down the stairs, froze for a moment. The voice sounded familiar to her.

“But I loved you…” Rozina said in a broken tone.

“Oh, please, just shut up,” Shahzad snapped in an irritated voice.

“Shahzad, please accept our child,” Rozina begged with folded hands.

“I don’t,” Shahzad replied coldly.

“How can you do this to me?” Rozina screamed, grabbing Shahzad’s collar. Meanwhile, Lily, standing on the stairs, was watching everything in disbelief. She couldn’t believe that Shahzad was the father of her sister’s child.

“You were just a toy for me... a means to fulfill my desires,” Shahzad said as he freed his collar from her grip and pushed her away.

“You bastard! You ruined my life! You said you loved me, and now you’re saying I was just a toy for you?” Rozina shouted as she slapped Shahzad across the face. She still couldn’t believe that the man she had risked everything for now saw her as nothing more than a toy. Shahzad instinctively placed his hand on the cheek where Rozina had slapped him.

Lily, standing on the stairs, had tears streaming down her face. She placed her hand on her stomach. Every fear she had was coming true.

Shahzad was glaring at Rozina in anger. In the next moment, he began to slap her one after another, completely losing control. He had turned utterly savage. Blood started to trickle from Rozina's mouth, yet Shahzad continued to strike her. With a powerful shove, he pushed her towards the coffee table in the living room, and she hit her head hard on the edge of the table. A scream escaped her lips.

Lily rushed down immediately after hearing her scream. Just as she was about to step forward, Shahzad pulled a gun from his pocket. His first target was Nick, and in the next moment, a bullet struck the little boy right between the eyes, and he collapsed instantly.

Rozina, still dazed, was unaware of what was happening, and before she could come to her senses, Shahzad fired another bullet, this time aimed at her heart. Lily's scream echoed through the living room.

When Shahzad turned around and saw Lily, he was taken aback.

“Rozina...” Lily's voice resonated throughout the room.

Beast had just freshened up and stepped outside when his phone rang. He attended the call, listened to everything from the other side, then hung up and tossed the phone onto the bed. As he walked, he found himself standing on the balcony of his room.

Before him lay the Marmara Sea, its shore still crowded with tourists and locals as it was every day. He stood in a room of a tall white building in Buyukada, quietly gazing at the sea. Not long ago, he had killed a Turkish don in that very water while the man was fleeing for his life. To this day, the locals had no idea who had killed Ahmed Bey; if they knew anything, it was only that another mafia had taken over in Turkey.

He returned to his room, put on his black coat, and stepped out. Walking down the hallway, he entered a room where King was present.

King had been in deep silence in his room for quite some time. He lifted his head to look at Beast as he approached.

"Why are you here now?" King asked, leaning his head back against the sofa.

"You know, King, you’ve gathered a bunch of useless people," Beast said mockingly.

"If I didn’t know, I wouldn’t have bothered calling you from Italy," King replied, letting out a weary sigh.

"Let me tell you something: your loyal followers are wishing for your death. If you want to distance yourself from my protection, go ahead, King," Beast said, locking his green eyes onto King’s dark ones.

"Just give me the heads of Black Devil and his son," King said, his eyes filled with bloodlust.

"Sure…" Beast said, turning to leave.

"Where are you going?" King’s voice called out to him from behind.

"I don’t think it’s necessary to tell you." With that, Beast exited the room

Jaza had been admitted to university, and her classes were set to start in a month. These days, she was learning to drive from Shahid Sahib. At that moment, she was with him, having stopped the car near a park while driving through the society. She usually came here every evening after driving lessons, but today she had gone out with Shahid Sahib in the afternoon because the weather outside was very pleasant.

"I didn't know my daughter could learn to drive so well in just a week," Shahid Sahib said, taking her hand in his and walking alongside her.

"I'm not that good yet. I can drive comfortably in the society, but when it comes to the roads outside, I lose my confidence," Jaza replied in a soft voice.

"I’m sure my daughter will drive well not just in the society, but also on the roads and in races," Shahid Sahib tightened his grip on her hand.

"Of course," Jaza said, raising her head confidently. Shahid Sahib had always encouraged his daughters.

"By the way, Dad, what’s your favorite animal?" Jaza asked after a moment of thought.

"Where did this question come from today?" Shahid Sahib raised an eyebrow and looked at her.

"Just tell me, Dad," Jaza shrugged.

"Wolf..." Shahid Sahib replied succinctly.

For a moment, Jaza paused. Noticing her hesitation, Shahid Sahib led her to sit on a nearby bench.

"But Dad, why a wolf?" Jaza asked again after thinking it over.

"Because it’s fearless and brave," Shahid Sahib answered.

"But Dad, lions are also fearless and brave. So why not a lion?" Jaza turned her gaze towards Shahid Sahib.

"Lions are certainly fearless and brave. But have you ever seen a wolf performing tricks at the circus under human command? Have you ever seen a wolf kept as a pet by humans?" Shahid Sahib asked her in a soft tone.

"But Dad, as far as I know, wolves are loyal to humans..." Jaza said thoughtfully.

"Indeed, wolves are loyal to humans, but they do not accept domination. A wolf is known for its strength, loyalty, obedience, courage, discipline, and self-respect. A wolf is an excellent leader who protects its entire pack," Shahid Sahib explained, looking at Jaza.

"How is a wolf obedient?" Jaza asked, surprised.

"It becomes a shield for its parents in their old age, protects them, and takes care of them. This quality is found in wolves more than in any other animals. The strongest wolf, one that can overpower all the male wolves in its pack, becomes the leader of that group," Shahid Sahib continued, his eyes shining with an unusual light as he looked toward the park.

"What do you call the strongest wolf?" Jaza suddenly found herself intrigued by the topic.

"Alpha... the one who is the strongest, the leader, the chief. That’s what we call the alpha," Shahid Sahib said, a faint smile on his face.

"Then are female wolves not brave or fearless, like how a lion has a lioness?" Jaza asked, resting her chin on her hand.

"She is the alpine, and the alpine always comes under the alpha. Sometimes as a wife, sometimes as a daughter, and sometimes in both roles," Shahid Sahib said, looking at Jaza.

"By the way, how do you know so much about wolves?" Jaza squinted her eyes, looking at her father suspiciously.

"Because it’s my favorite animal," Shahid Sahib replied, playfully pinching her nose.

"Dadddddd!" Jaza exclaimed.

"Come on, get up, my alpine. From tomorrow, I will teach you something new," Shahid Sahib said, standing up.

"What?" Jaza asked, surprised.

"The same thing you like," Shahid Sahib replied.

"But what? I have so many things I want to do," Jaza asked again.

"Self-defense," Shahid Sahib said, glancing at her as he walked.

"Oh," Jaza said, thinking.

"By the way, Dad..." she started to say something when Shahid Sahib interrupted.

"No more questions," he said, placing a finger on her lips.

She had always been like this; she loved to know everything. Once she started asking questions, she wouldn't stop. To silence her every time, Shahid Sahib would place his finger on her lips, signaling that it was enough for now and that the remaining questions could wait for another time.

Both of them exited the park. This time, Shahid Sahib took the driver's seat.

Just as they reached home, Jaza's phone started ringing with Noor's call.

"Oh shoot..." Jaza placed her hand on her forehead.

"What happened?" Annam Begum, who was preparing lunch, turned toward Jaza at her voice.

"Mama, I was supposed to go shopping with Noor and Amna, and we had plans for lunch together. I'm going to change now," she said, rushing upstairs.

In the next half hour, the three of them were at a shop in the shopping mall.

"Noor, look at how cute this hat is!" Jaza held up a black-and-pink combination hat in front of Noor and Amna.

"Wow, that looks really nice. Is there any other color?" Noor said, putting down the shirt she was holding and stepping forward. Amna also came up next to her.

The three of them picked their favorite hats and were heading to another shop for more shopping.

As Jaza was chatting with Noor and Amna, she suddenly felt like someone was watching her. She paused for a moment and glanced around.

"What’s wrong, Jaza?" Amna asked when she noticed Jaza had stopped.

"Nothing, let’s go," Jaza said, brushing it off as she moved forward. They had finished all their shopping and were now sitting in the food area, placing their orders. Jaza felt a bit uneasy; she kept sensing that someone was watching her. But whenever she looked around, no one was there.

"You guys stay here; I’ll be right back," Jaza said as she got up.

"Where are you going?" Noor couldn't help but ask.

"I'm going to the washroom. Are you coming?" Jaza shot a look at Noor.

"Then go alone," Noor pouted.

Jaza walked toward the washroom, but the feeling of being watched kept haunting her. She entered the washroom, where there were only three other girls inside. After a little while, she came back out and found no one there. She moved toward the sink to wash her hands. Lost in her thoughts, she was about to turn when she caught a glimpse of something in the adjacent mirror...

"I can see you... Girl..."

As Jaza read this, the color drained from her face momentarily. But after regaining her composure, she began to move forward when her eyes fell on a sheet of paper.

Come puoi nasconderti da me? Conosco ogni singolo istante di te.
How can you hide from me? I know every single moment of you.

Her first glance went to her name, but she couldn't understand the words above it.

"What language is this?" she wondered to herself just as her phone rang with Amna's call.

"I'm on my way," she said, cutting Amna off without listening to her reply. She quickly shoved the sheet into her bag and exited the washroom. Tiny beads of sweat were forming on her forehead as she tried to appear as normal as possible while having lunch with Noor and Amna.

After a while, they decided to head back, and Jaza silently thanked her luck that she was returning.

Meanwhile, whoever was watching her from a computer screen had his eyes fixed on Jaza as she exited the mall.

Non puoi nasconderti da me...
You cannot hide from me...

The man said in a low voice, leaning back against the chair with his eyes still on Jaza.

Lily advanced in a state of grief and anger, and just before she could grab Shehzad by the collar, he caught her wrist.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Shehzad gripped Lily's face in anger.

"You are a killer... you killed my sister and her baby..."

Lily cried as she spoke.

"Yes, I’m a killer... and now it’s your turn, baby." Shehzad clenched her hair tightly. His grip was so strong that Lily's neck bent back. Tears streamed down her cheeks.

Shehzad had done something today that she could have never imagined.

"Shehzad, please leave me... I’m pregnant with your child..."

Lily sobbed.

"I don’t care..."

Shehzad pulled her hair even harder, pushing her back against the wall.

Lily grabbed a decorative piece from the table beside her and swung it at Shehzad's head, but he quickly blocked her strike and threw her aside with a jerk. A wave of pain shot through her entire being. She was writhing from the agony, acutely aware of her loss. Silent tears turned into screams. The pain was unbearable for her.

Shehzad pointed the gun at Lily. In the next moment, a bullet struck her in the abdomen. The intensity of the pain was making her lose consciousness. The bullet had shattered whatever courage she had left. Shehzad walked away.

Lily cast one last look at the cruel man whose hands were now stained with innocent blood. A tear fell, absorbed into her hair. Perhaps there was still a glimmer of hope for her to live, but the severity of the pain kept her from rising. She fell unconscious, blood flowing from her body.

At that moment, a figure moved away from the window. Perhaps he had seen the entire incident unfold.

"Sir, he has killed Rozina and her son... and as for Lily..."

The man was telling Amell over the phone.

"What happened to Lily? Stop talking nonsense and get to the point," Amell, who had come to Canada for work for three days, demanded.

His informant had just called him, having been keeping an eye on Lily.

"He shot Lily." The man mustered the courage to share this news with Amell.

"That despicable man! Get her to the hospital immediately; she must be okay, or I'll kill you!" Amell shouted in anger, his heart sinking at the thought of Lily's condition.

He hung up the call and quickly booked a flight back to the U.S. for that evening.

On the other side, Amell's trusted man had already taken Lily to the hospital. The doctor had immediately begun surgery since she had lost a lot of blood. The doctor had told Amell’s man that Lily had only a 1% chance of survival.

Amell's man had conveyed all this to him while he packed his things, his heart racing.

A fear gripped him—the fear of losing his love. He wanted to reach Lily as quickly as possible.

Lily was undergoing surgery. It had been six hours since she was in the operating room. Amell’s man was waiting in the corridor when he spotted Amell approaching.

"Sir..." he straightened up upon seeing him.

"Is she okay?" Amell asked, looking at him intently.

"Sir, it’s too soon to say. She was shot, causing significant blood loss, and there’s internal bleeding," the man began relaying the doctor’s words.

"Internal bleeding?" Amell repeated in shock.

"Yes, sir, she was pregnant." The news hit Amell like a blow to the head.

"You can leave now. I'll handle the rest," Amell said after a long silence.

The man quickly walked away because if he stayed even a moment longer, Amell would have dealt with him severely. He had seen the madness in Amell’s eyes.

Shehzad entered his hotel room, tossed his coat onto the bed, and collapsed face-down on the mattress.

For a while, he lay in that position. He reached out and grabbed his phone. Checking the time, he saw it was nine o'clock at night. He immediately sat up and went to freshen up. After freshening up, he stepped out, drying his hair with a towel.

Standing in front of the mirror, his dark hair was slightly disheveled, scattered across his forehead. He turned and took a dress out of his bag before heading to the dressing room.

Shehzad was speeding through the streets of Los Angeles in his car late at night. He stopped in front of a nightclub and got out, walking inside.

Inside, young men and women were dancing to the loud music, creating a vibrant atmosphere. It was a world of its own, where distinctions faded. One side was bustling with drinks, another with gambling, and yet another with drugs. In one corner, semi-nude girls were engrossed in showcasing their dances.

Shehzad walked up to the bar and stood there. He ordered a drink and began watching the girls dance.
